We have always have fun at book signings. With the pandemic winding down and things opening up I'm looking forward to celebrating in person with readers again. (So is Jolly Roger the parrot of Moonlight Harbor fame!)
![]() Wait a minute. You don't work here! Book signing parties are always fun, and I love visiting all my local Barnes & Noble stores. I especially love visiting the Federal Way Barnes & Noble in Washington because my family always turns out. And they are so fun! As some of you know, my big brother has taken to coming in disguise. Last year he was a little old lady. The year before he looked like such a suspicious character the store employees almost called the police. But once they heard the laughter from our corner of the store they knew he was okay. This year he was a handyman, complete with ladder and tool belt and a fake wig and beard. And even though he called the store to make sure this would be okay, he received quite a few eyebrows when he walked in. Ever vigilant, one store customer actually checked with me to see if I had a brother who was wandering around the store in disguise. ![]() Of course, I see more than my family. Old friends often show up and that is such a treat! Here Gerhardt catches up with our friends Dave and Sandie from the burbs. New friends show up, too. At the Bellevue Barnes & Noble outside of Seattle, I had the opportunity to meet one of my Facebook friends and a loyal reader. Claudia came out And, of course, we always have goodies and prizes. As you can see, we're staring to make a dent in the cookies! All the ladies took home chocolate roses and recipes for my Super Comforting Mac & Cheese. It was a busy and long day but oh, so fun. Thanks to all who came out! |
