VALENTINE'S CONTEST

1/23/2012

I love February! All that love is in the air fun and chocolate - it does my heart good. I always try to squeeze in some extra entertaining and a good romantic chick flick this month to celebrate. So I thought it would be fun to get some movie suggestions. Have you got a favorite romantic movie, one you think would be perfect for Valentine's Day? Share it here. We'll pick a winner and send you a little Valentine Goody package of some chocolate and a signed Sheila book. You have until Feb 13th to post. We'll announce our winner on Valentine's Day.

Our favorite romantic movie is Music & Lyrics! We love getting cozy and watching it together - It's got the perfect blend of comedy and romance, and GREAT music... "POP! goes my heart!" Now, if they could just make a movie out of Be My Valentine... :)

I love the movie Enchanted.
Giselle tries to tell Robert what true love is all about.
He is so synical and doesn't really get it, but finally does.
Giselle thought she knew what true love was and who her true love was, but she also learned eventually it wasn't who she thought it was.
And of course you can't beat the music!

I love the Lost Valentine movie. It had Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt on there. It was on tv last year. The ending is very sad and I even cried. I don't usually cry while watching a movie, but this one was so great.

The Nativity Story! While it is not technically a romance movie or a comedy, it does portray the greatest love of all, the love that Jesus has for all of us. Blessings on your Valentine's Day! :)

My favorite is the notebook. Its just so romantic, i love watching that movie. I also love P.S I Love You, its terribly sad but also very romantic. Its was great how she got letters every month for a year and she had to do what he stated in the letter to find the next note he wrote before he passed away.

If you decide to stay in on Valentine’s Day, throw a log on the fire, open a bottle of champagne, prepare some strawberries dipped in chocolate (or buy a box of decadent chocolates) and snuggle up for a lovely movie. I can think of a wonderful old movie I would recommend: Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), directed by Blake Edwards. It is a romantic comedy starring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly and George Peppard as Paul her neighbor. The movie is an adaptation of a Truman Capote novel. Holly Golightly is an independent, charming socialite and pretty, quirky neighbor who falls in love with an aspiring writer, Paul, who moves into her building. The clothing is wonderful. Holly confuses and fascinates Paul. She goes from sexy and sophisticated to sweet and vulnerable. This is a classic, romantic movie that is both uplifting and memorable.

I've always loved 'You've Got Mail' so sweet, so romantic. I have a long time friend & her birthday is February 14th and my former mother in law was also born on Valentine's Day. I remember back in the 60's when I first met her & she told me her birthday was Feb 14th she mentioned that she really disliked those combination birthday & Valentine's Day cards. After I married her son...you can bet that every year she got two cards a couple days apart !! Happy 'Heart' Day to all!
