Would you like to be more generous, more fit? Let's share our plans for the new year. On the 29th we'll draw a name and someone will receive this journal and very cool beachy necklace. I might be you!

I always keep the same resolution as I am over the age of making big changes in my life so mine is to read and review a new author to me every month. I review every book I read but the new authors I want to have a chance so I want to read a new to me author and also review those books along with all the other books I review. Happy New Year to all!

This year I will continue to read 1-2 books per week and write in my journal my thoughts and feelings as we get the vaccines and get closer to a new normal life. Our old normal lives are so treasured, but we will enjoy the new normal since it will have more freedom to do things than in 2020.

This year, I am implementing the marble jar. Too often I forget about my small achievements and focus on my failures. I want to shift my mindset and celebrate all the positives in my life. Each time I make an achievement throughout the day, I put a marble in the jar. Then at the end of the week, I count the marbles and put $1 in savings for each marble. At the end of 2021, I will use this money to reward myself with something to celebrate myself and my achievements - a solo vacation, a spa day, or something else well-deserved!

This year, I want to treat myself better. This past year, the family lost our mom to covid. Being executor of her affairs was "hard work" that I found very challenging, but I told myself that I owed this challenge to my mom for all she did for us. I also had some medical bumps in my road that I am working through with physical therapy. I want to spread a little sunshine to those that I have the opportunity to meet and help but I cannot due that if I continue to carry this dark cloud overhead.
2021---shine on :)

I want to read 80 books this year. I want to work on decluttering the house. We moved in with my Mom about 10 years ago. She has a lot of paperwork and items that we no longer use. We need to work on getting rid of a lot of it. It will give more floor space. (We live in a six room house). We are all three handicapped. When Mom comes home from the rehab center, she will be using an electric wheelchair.

In 2021, I am going to try (no, I WILL) finish another book, at least one. Although amidst all the trials, fear and worry mongering of 2020, we had a great year in our small (2 broker) real estate and vacation rental business, but I didn't make the time to write. It wasn't just about time, it was a despondency like I've never felt before. I'm hoping that when I MAKE myself get back into writing, that will melt away.
I love some of the other comments to this post too, and want to add an AMEN to many of them.
Happy New Year Sheila and Gerhardt!

Daughter finally left her abusive husband, took her girls and moved into an apartment. Since March,he has threatened to blow her head off, blocked her in so she couldn’t go to work and call and threatened anything you could think of. He is an alcoholic and now bipolar. Dr says it’s alcohol poisoning and withdrawal psychosis. He has been “my son” since he was 16 and became official son in law 35 years later. Divorce will be coming but it’s so hard for us. Restraining orders are in place. Hope this year brings some closure for them.

This year I plan on wearing my Choose to Be Nice Shirt more often and to continue posting positive quotes on my FB page. Several FB friends have told me how much they like to read my posts. I am looking forward to doing things with friends and family. A big family Thanksgiving and Christmas is in the works this year. We missed celebrating as a family. A ZOOM call just doesn't do it! I also am looking forward to spending more time with my grandsons who are 2 and 5. I am praying for a healthier year for myself this year. There were too many health issues in 2020. During COVID, I let my housekeeping skills slip so I am unorganized.
