I'M LUCKY BECAUSE...

Happy St. Patty's Day month. I hope, as we march into 2021 that you all are staying safe and healthy, that those of you who wanted to get the COVID vaccine have been able to and that those of you who are still waiting will be able to get it soon. Speaking of luck, early on, if any of us got an appointment we felt like we'd won the lottery.
But, speaking of luck, I have the perfect prize for some lucky winner this month - this beautiful Celtic scarf/shawl. (It is definitely big enough to wear as a shawl. Gerhardt thought it was a tablecloth when he first saw it!  If you'd like to win it, tell me what you're doing to get "lucky" in life. I firmly believe that our attitudes and choices play a big part in having a good life. What advice would you give someone on how to improve her life? What smart choices have you made? Share them here and we will pick a winner on St. Patrick's Day.
Do remember to check here to see if you've won. And check your spam in your email. (We try three times to contact a winner and if we don't hear back within 24 hours after that last attempt we move on!)
U.S. Residents only for this one

Today was a lucky one. A book of yours was in our tiny library at the beach. It is called Home on Apple Blossom Road. A new town to explore during these spring storms is just the comfort someone needs. So thankful to find this blessing!!

I LOVE Icicle Falls! The good thing about this series is you don't have to read them in order, as you will get to know some of the same people in every book and meet new people too. I still remember when I read Home on Apple Blossom Road-it was a beach read for me, and as usual with a 'Sheila' book, left me with 'all the feels'. Enjoy!

I have always believed the same thing ....also called karma. When you do good unconditionally, it will come back to you. Also, follow your instincts. For example, a few weeks ago I needed a restroom. I was out shopping and the store I was at had their restroom closed. I needed to go down the road to the gas station. There are 2 pretty close to each other and I I always go to the one and not the other. This day, my instinct was to visit the one I never go to. It was like I was guided . Well after using the restroom I went and asked for2 lotto tickets. The lady said she had one left of the kind I bought and wanted to know if I'd want to get that one also. I said why not. Well the first 2 I bought won nothing. But that 3 rd one hit $500. So, if I hadn't followed my instinct to go to a different station I wouldn't have gotten lucky as far as I know. This has happened to me quite a few times. And it doesn't always have to be about money. I've followed my instinct to take a different route or leave at a different time and have avoided something bad or been somewhere at the exact right time to see someone that I had been missing. So....do good unconditionally and follow your instincts.

I always believe I'm going to win, when I fill out any contest. And sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. But I love trying

To get lucky in life, I suppose I will continue practicing my daily ritual of giving thanks first thing in the morning. Showing gratitude can be a life changer. Turn those 'I wish I had.____' or I need ____' to "I am so thankful to have____' and 'I have_____' etc. Sometimes, perspective plays a HUGE role in getting what we want.

I’m lucky in life because I love people and try to do what I can to help them. I want everyone I know to be happy where we are! Loving people, one on one and one at a time, making them important in my life, makes me ha happy and a lucky person... having others in my life!

I am lucky because I am able to work from home during the pandemic, especially since I’m considered high risk. I have recently made a resolution to myself to work on doing better with my health.

I am staying lucky, happy and joyful this year. The reason is because I'm letting go of control. I'm turning my life over to God. Seeking His will for my life. Spending more time in the Word. Seeking His Presence. He is my shelter and strength.

I am lucky because I had no bad side effects going through chemo and radiation last year. I am so grateful to be ''cured'', even with the knowledge that the cancer can come back. I am trying to eat healthier, to get other aspects of my health under control, and it is working!

I'm trying to remain positive and feel very fortunate during this difficult time to have been able to continue working without any loss of time.

I think my advice would be to always look forward and not backward to your mistakes. You learn by those and if you look backward you are always concentrating on those so forward is a positive look at what can happen and make good choices. Always look forward to a brand new day and look forward to what you will be doing even if you had a bad morning look forward to the afternoon. That would be my topic for people.

I am lucky because I have been to Ireland...my grandparents on my Dad's side of the family came to this country in the late 1800's and moved to Alexandria, VA, where my Dad, and me were born. I was able to go to Ireland about 8 years ago, and in Dublin, there is a street named after my Dad's family....quite a thrill.

I have an angel suncatcher that says Rejoice hanging in the window by my bed. It is the first thing I see in the morning and I think of all the things for which I am grateful. Years ago I changed my life by seeing the bright side in everything. I look for good and I try to show kindness to all. I find I'm less stressed and happier. I worry less about things not coming out perfect. I feel that helping others has brought joy and luck into my life. I enter contests and have fun dreaming of winning. I consider myself lucky in my family and friends. I guess what I am saying is that I am happy with what I have and being able to share with others. When I occasionally win a small prize I am thrilled. Although I do wish PCH has come to my door, but oh well. LOL

I felt very lucky that my husband and I were able to get our first shots last week.

Being Irish I am a great believer in luck. When we were looking for our first house and I walked into one house that had Kelly green carpeting in the living room, I considered this a lucky omen. We bought that house and are still happily loving there almost 37 years now. 🍀🍀

I count my self Lucky everyday that my husband and I are healthy at age 70/68 and
that in two weeks we will get our second shot.
I am lucky that my children are working and healthy. Lucky that my Grandson is healthy
as well as all other family and friends.
I count myself Lucky everyday for everything I have

I’m “making myself lucky” - finally - at age 66! What changed? I’m not sure WHY it changed but I sure know WHAT changed!
I am saying, “Yes!” to opportunities and accepting help/advice that I spent a lifetime avoiding, ignoring, or just flat out refused.

I am lucky to be married to a guy who loves his Lord and guides him.
He is a loving and supportive man to me and our 2 girls, even though they are married and have families of their own. I am looking forward to finding out who Jenna picks.

I don’t necessarily believe in luck or coincidence because I know God is in ultimate control. But St Patrick’s day has a special place in my heart because it was the day I found out I was pregnant with my firstborn. What a wonderful blessing she has been to our family.

I would say never give up. Even if you get knocked down haul yourself up and keep on trying; good things will happen eventually.

The things I do to keep "lucky" in life are positive thinking, enjoying the simple things in life, learning something new each day and remembering to laugh and to relax (not to take everything so seriously). Wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy St. Patrick Day's!

I'm feeling lucky because I survived the winter. The ground hog says we will be getting 6 more weeks of winter. But the wind is howling and March is coming in like a lion and so hopefully go out like a lamb.

I say yes, take chances, and roll with the punches. You gotta play to win--whether it's in life or something else, you have to put yourself out there.

Wayne Gretsky said something like you miss one hundred percent of the chances you don't take.

I am “lucky” because I am alive! I have my health, my family, my friends and I have the ability to make choices for the things I want to do. I believe in treating people how you want to be treated and to be kind to everyone.

I'm "lucky" because even though this past year has been heartbreaking, there is still so much hope to hold onto, and happier times to look forward to. As the late great Louisa May Alcott once wrote, "Hope and keep busy." Those simple but wise words are ones I often remind myself of during these difficult times.

I live in Texas and feel incredibly lucky that my husband and I were spared the brunt of the storm three weeks ago. Unlike many of our neighbors who were without power and water for four days, we had power and water the whole time (although we had to boil our water). I think when you've been lucky enough to be blessed like we were, you need to use that power for good and help however you can.
