CHRISTMAS FROM THE HEART

9/24/2019

Picture
Yes, I have another book out! Excited to share CHRISTMAS FROM THE HEART with all of you. And I'd love to hear where you bought it - some of us are store peeps, some of us are online buyers. Do you have a favorite store? Favorite book seller? Then share your version of what the phrase Christmas from the Heart means. It will be fun to see what that means to each of us. Maybe you'll win this pretty Lenox ornament and a copy of one of my favorite stories, WINTER AT THE BEACH. We'll pick a name to win this holiday duo fun on November 1, so you have plenty of time.
P.S. Remember to check back here come November 2nd to see if you won. Sometimes we contact winners and never hear back. You don't want that to be you!

My favorite place to buy books is Barnes and Noble. I love to go and browse. Target seems to have a large selection of books as well.
I think Christmas From The Heart means a time for family and traditions : certain foods/desserts, when you open gifts, etc. Celebrate being together. Family is love..and of course the birth of baby Jesus.

I ordered from Amazon and received it today. Christmas from the Heart means sharing the feelings of peace and goodwill with friends and family.

Since we longer have a decent bookstore close to home, I order on-line from Barnes & Noble, Amazon or Wal Mart.

Christmas from the Heart means to me...the true meaning of Christmas: celebrating the birth of Jesus & knowing that Jesus lives in my heart!

When I order books on line it’s usually from Amazon and Walmart. I also love the ambience of the “old time bookstores “ unfortunately there aren’t any in my area. Christmas from the heart means giving of yourself whether that means giving your time or talent or something that only you can do and want nothing in return.

Cathy Truman

I purchased books from Amazon and sometimes Walmart. Christmas from the heart means to bring joy and happiness to people. We like to get names from the Angel tree and purchased toys and clothes to help the little angels have a Merry Christmas.

I buy books from Target & Amazon. Christmas from the heart means celebrating the birth of baby Jesus. Also spending time with family & friends following old traditions & maybe throwing in a new tradition. One of my favorite things is hearing the sounds of children's laughter when they are opening presents especially my grandson.

I get most of my books from Kobo and amazon, I also frequent my local library and when we do buy books my sister and I share.
Christmas was never about gifts for me I love the family and friends time and share stories and what is going on in our lives. Our children and grand children great food and lots of hugs and laughter. Both of my parents have passed away so we always tell stories of when they were alive some funny some no so much. things were hard as farmers so maybe that's why I love reading and knowing someone else had ups and downs too. I love not having to wait a year for your next book thank you for sharing your gift with all your readers.

Christmas from the heart to me was when my whole family would gather at my parent's house on Christmas Eve and load all the gifts under the tree. We'd share. Smorgasbord of food and drinks and lots of laughs of Christmas pasts. The children would be brought upstairs by the oldest child to watch for Santa. We'd all open gifts and sing carols. It was a special feeling in our hearts to be together each year. Seeing more and more generations come. But the year my mom died and her mom died 23 days after, that magic ended. It has been so hard to get "that feeling" again. I was so blessed to have had it for 38 yrs.

10/1/2019 08:58:49 am

I split my book buying between Target, Walmart and Amazon! If there are a lot of new releases by several of my favorite authors I will wait until they are all released then binge buy 5-6 at a time...(thus getting free shipping as I don’t do Amazon Prime). Otherwise I regularly check the grocery stores, plus Target and Walmart to see if I’ve missed anything!!! As far as Christmas From the Heart, I try to minimize the “stuff” and commercialization and do something or give something that is meaningful to the recipients...a kind word, a handmade gift, things like that!

Linda Dreher
10/1/2019 10:25:38 am

I buy my books from Amazon.
Christmas from the Heart means giving to those who are less fortunate the gifts they want. We have a Christmas Angel Tree at church and you pick a boy or girl and their age and buy an appropriate gift for that age. It means sharing meals with friends and family, and a meal with the homeless people or less fortunate people. I love to share myself in doing volunteering for gift and food giveaways. I also donate to Samaritans Purse that gives gifts to children in foreign country's with the gospel of Christ.

Susan Wilkinson
10/1/2019 11:12:24 am

Order a lot from Amazon, love the atmosphere at Barnes & Noble, get coupons from Books-a-Million but the one I go to has downsized my sections. Christmas, the heart is open and giving.

Sandra Bensley
10/1/2019 11:14:31 am

My favorite place to purchase books Amazon or Barnes & Noble, but I also like Half Price Books. What does Christmas from the heart mean to me? Two things, something that has been homemade, that's straight from the heart for sure. The other is something that is so "the person" that you know the giver has taken time to really give you something heartfelt and special. That could even be a book, those to me mean that someone knows me and takes the time to really look for that 'heartfelt' gift.

Diana Hardt
10/1/2019 11:31:47 am

Christmas from the Heart means giving, and remember why we give, is more important than to receive when it comes to gifts. It's thoughtfulness, kindness throughout the season, and love.

Stores I like are JC Penney and Amazon. Christmas from the heart means to me that you are true to the meaning of Christmas, not just buying and giving gifts, Giving some of your time or money towards like Salvation Army, or Angel Tree. Also remember the past and do things with your family to remember the past like decorating Christmas cookies, going to church, and decorating the tree together

I'm honestly a second hand, hardcover book lover and collector and love to hunt them down at yard sales and thrift stores but I do occasionally read books on iBooks or Amazon.
I think Christmas from the Heart is just that. You make and create the holiday you imagine and love, to share with family and friends.

Brick and mortar bookstores are getting harder and harder to find. We have a Barnes and Noble in Tuscaloosa but that’s all. I order online a lot mostly from Amazon. Also seek books at Walmart or Sam’s Club.

I've always had a hard time getting into the Christmas Spirit as so many things (not too good) have happen in my life at that time of year. I always put on a good face for the kids while they were young but they saw through it as they grew older and then began to ask questions ( I was honest for the most of it) and they understood. I have love all your books as they make me feel as if I am in it going and doing what all the characters are doing. Thanks for all the good times. Keep on writing as I will keep on smiling. Have a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Hugs.

I tend to buy old books on Amazon so new books would be bought in a local bookstore like Easons or Hodges Figgis where I can help to employ people.

Christmas from the heart - a thoughtful and loving way of helping others to enjoy Christmas, not just about any one aspect of the season.

Carolyn Ferguson
10/2/2019 02:24:36 pm

Most of the time I get your books from my library where I work or from our local Walmart Store. This is what Christmas from the Heart means to me. it is sharing of time with a loved one or giving a gift to a person who maybe without like baskets of food or clothing to a family in need with toys for the little ones in the family or taking blankets to shelters for animals or the most meaningful is giving of yourself and not getting anything in return but love that is what Christmas from the heart means to me!!!

Lori R
10/2/2019 05:15:37 pm

I like Amazon because there are no bookstores near me.Christmas from the heart means family to me and giving instead of receiving.

I buy my books from amazon as I have RSD and can't drive anymore and i do have a friend that comes out on WED and we do errands and the dinner and after crafts but some wed she has something else to do like this wed, So it is better for me to get the books I want at Amazon in print. That way I know they are there and also I write reviews for ever book I read so it is easier to submit a review to them. My fingers are crippled and i always get print books,If i happen to be in a drug store and they have a book I want then I do get it there as long as the walk is close to them. Thanks peggy Clayton
