AND YOUR PLANS FOR THE NEW YEAR ARE...

12/30/2021

Picture
Got some fun plans for the new year? Some goals you'd like to reach? I'm hoping we will be able to travel. And I'm working on some non-fiction books I hope will be an encouragement to others. That's a big part of my new year plans. How about you? Share what you hope your new year will look like. Come January 31st we will pick a name out of the proverbial hat and send this journal to one of you so you can write down your thoughts and record your adventures. (U.S. only.) Be sure to check back here on Feb 1 to see if you won. And check your spam folder! (We give winners a week and then if we don't hear we move on.) Happy New Year!

I am hoping this year is much better and Covid gets under control. I hope we are able to travel again. Also our second grandson is a Sr. in high school. I hope it is where we can attend all his functions. Just hope and pray for a much better year.

I’m hoping to be more positive and love each day happier than the last. To much negativity is just bad.

Our first grandchild was born in October and she lives seven hours away. Although we were there for her birth, we were not able to hold her (due to covid). We were finally able to see and hold her for a little while in early December, although with masks, we didn't get to spread grandma & grandpa kisses all over her face. I'm hoping for this pandemic to go away this year so I can visit my granddaughter and love her to pieces.

After spending so much more time in my home during the last 2 years I've realized that what I'd like to do most this year is to simplify the things that surround me! There probably is a lot of truth to the "Less is More" theory! Clothes I don't wear, 'stuff' I've saved because someone might need it or want it after we're gone (they won't, haha)...it might take me all year, but I've got the time!

I've been working on going thru many years of accumulated stuff from multiple generations in order to sell my house and move closer to family. Have to let a lot go - that can be difficult and have to be in the right frame of mind - plus it's a lot of physical work. I have to just keep working at it every day.

Haven't figured out what my 2022 holds, but 2021 had a few good moments like my two older boys graduating from college, and we all were able to spend Christmas together.

At the end of 2021 I lost 2 immediate family members within a week of each other then my family had to delay Christmas due to Covid, so in 2022 I’m looking to find joy again, to take care of myself and live a healthy physically and mentally productive life going forward and not waste a minute because we aren’t promised another breathe.

This January 9th my husband and I celebrated our 24th anniversary. We got married the night of the ice storm of '98. So next January will be our Silver anniversary. Our goal this year is we are writing down all the places we would like to travel to by car for our road trip next year for celebrating (It will be in the summer since travel in January is not so good).Hopefully this Covid will be under control. We have never taken a vacation our whole marriage so very much looking forward to this.

I have been sole caregiver for my Mom for three years on Feb 11, 2019 I moved her into my home when she was discharged after a 7 month hospitalization. With Covid it has been even more difficult, all services that we had applied for came to a screeching halt, along with everyone else's. Mom is 90, has dementia and alot of other health concerns. I am blessed to still have her here, I know that. Glad that I can give her a safe and loving home for what ever time she has left.

Sheila,
I want to travel this year. I'd also like to meet with a WWII author, and collaborate on a story that has been on my back burner for too long. We'd also like to make improvements on our lot at the beach, so we can spend more time there. Hope to see you and Gerhardt in OS! Take care!

What a beautiful journal! Now that I’m retired, I’m spending more time writing about and photographing my days, including books read and listened to. Someday I hope to be traveling again.
Thank you for the hours of entertainment spent as I get lost in your Icicle Falls and Moonlight Bay worlds. Keep writing, please.

After being an at home teacher to my 9 year old and a full time Mama I lost sight of who I am and can be. So this year I will be making "Me" time and doing some things that bring me happiness (mostly reading) and finding a way to feel more like myself in my life and career.

I am not really making any resolutions except this year I want to step up more, be more present and be more helpful. My plan this year is to do 74 kind, helpful things to friends in need, friends not in need and even strangers. For example, maybe I’ll pay for the person waiting behind me at a drive thru restaurant, surprise a friend with a book I know they really want to read, pay for someone’s groceries in line in front of me and things I think of as I go through 2022.
