Happy St. Patty's Day month. I hope, as we march into 2021 that you all are staying safe and healthy, that those of you who wanted to get the COVID vaccine have been able to and that those of you who are still waiting will be able to get it soon. Speaking of luck, early on, if any of us got an appointment we felt like we'd won the lottery.
But, speaking of luck, I have the perfect prize for some lucky winner this month - this beautiful Celtic scarf/shawl. (It is definitely big enough to wear as a shawl. Gerhardt thought it was a tablecloth when he first saw it! If you'd like to win it, tell me what you're doing to get "lucky" in life. I firmly believe that our attitudes and choices play a big part in having a good life. What advice would you give someone on how to improve her life? What smart choices have you made? Share them here and we will pick a winner on St. Patrick's Day. Do remember to check here to see if you've won. And check your spam in your email. (We try three times to contact a winner and if we don't hear back within 24 hours after that last attempt we move on!) U.S. Residents only for this one

Kathleen O'Donnell. To all of you who posted, I hope you can reach your goals, get vaccinated, stay healthy, have a chance to travel, and throw that barbecue. So many lofty and worthwhile goals and dreams! And my sincere condolences to those of you who lost loved ones this past year. It's so hard to let go of those we love. Here's to honoring their memory by living the best lives we can!
Sheila "This year I ..."
How would you complete this sentence? What are your dreams and goals for 2021? Are you hoping to take that trip that got canceled? Want to read a book a week? Would you like to be more generous, more fit? Let's share our plans for the new year. On the 29th we'll draw a name and someone will receive this journal and very cool beachy necklace. I might be you! (Just remember, we try to contact you three times and if you don't respond you're out of luck, Ducks. So check back here and check your spam.) CONGRATS TO TONI TUVE who won our November One Charmed Christmas kick-off contest. It was fun seeing all your posts of where all you'd like to for that perfect getaway. Here's hoping in 2021 we'll all be able to start traveling again!
IT'S TIME to celebrate the release of a new book, so of course, we have to have a little contest here at Sheila's Place. I'm happy to announce that my novel One Charmed Christmas is a Target Recommends selection. How cool is that? This novel was written back when cruising wasn't hazardous to your health. I'm hoping once we lick COVID our cruise lines will be back in action again and we'll be able to enjoy those romantic and exciting adventures once more. Meanwhile, though, you can take a virtual cruise with One Charmed Christmas.
Sooo, keeping with the theme of romantic adventures, share your idea of the perfect getaway here. Who knows? That may be to Tahiti or to the backyard with a hammock and a good book. Or maybe, like me, you're hoping to see more of the world from the deck of a ship. Post it here. We have a sweet, little expandable charm bracelet for some lucky winner and a duo of Debbie Macomber (The Christmas Basket) and Sheila Roberts (Merry Ex-Mas) classics. We'll draw a name and post the winner here November 15th. That way we have time to track you down and get your goodies off to you and you'll be able to wear your charm bracelet for the holidays and enjoy a fun read. Sooo, check back here to see if you won. Winners have one week to respond when we email before we move on to another name, so check your spam! Annie Durkin, who won our May contest. Thank you to all of you who took time to post about your moms. So uplifting to read about those special women who did so much for us!
Mother's Day is right around the corner and, while the day may look very different this year for many of us I hope we can all find a way to honor our moms and those women who have been like a mother to us.
I think this pairing of chocolate and a good book (said she modestly) might make a nice belated present for Mom (or a reward for you for being such a good kid). All you have to do is post what you love about that important woman in your life. It may not be a mom. It may be a step-mom or a grandma or an aunt or a dear older friend. Here's your chance to pay tribute. We'll pick a winner on the 30th and announce a winner on May 31st. So do remember to check back here. And check your spam box. Sadly, I often wind up there. This is for U.S. residents, as I suspect even in the U.S. shipping will get a little pricey. (Apologies to my Canadian neighbors! and European friends!) Come April our thoughts turn to sunshine, gardening... and income tax. Money management seems to be a topic that never grows old, probably because the stuff is a necessary tool. Some of us use that tool well, others... not so much. So it's always good to share money-saving tips. Let's do that this month. Post what you do to save money/increase your nest egg. Who knows? I may share you tip in a future Super You newsletter or blog. Hopefully, we'll all learn something new as well.
One lucky person will win a copy of Chris Hogan's EVERDAY MILLIONAIRES and one of my favorite novels, the money-focused SMALL CHANGE. We'll pick a winner April 30th and announce on May 1. U.S. residents only cuz shipping gets expensive otherwise. Once winners are notified we give 'em a week to respond, so be sure and either check back here come May or check your email and spam. Looking forward to seeing lots of pearls of financial wisdom. |
