![]() How is it that life gets so crazy hectic? I keep thinking mine's going to settle down, but it never does. Still, a girl can't live in a tornado every day. Sometimes it's good to take a break and just breathe... which is what Gerhardt and I did yesterday. We ran away with some friends to the Washington Coast town of Westport. En route we visited the Westport Winery for lunch. The food at the winery was great. I enjoyed my quiche with Tarragon/Aioli sauce, and I don't regret that piece of raspberry-cream pie I had for dessert. I don't, I don't, I don't! (That's because I haven't stepped on the scale - I have to get serious about this diet, but I think I'll wait until after the Fourth of July.) In town, we walked along the waterfront and enjoyed the sea air and the view of fishing boats. As you can see by the picture above, it was a perfect June day - blue sky and warm weather. Now, today, we are back in crazy land dealing with everything from downsizing to guardianship issues for our handicapped daughter. I am SO glad I ran away yesterday. And tonight I think I'll run away again... inside a good book. How about you? What do you do when you want to run away?

Usually, I'll run away to a movie - especially in the summer. Give me robots, superheroes, special effects, anything that makes a great popcorn movie escape. And if it is an old-fashioned drive-in theater, all the better!
