Yes, it's tax time again, when a young woman's thoughts turn to... money. Some of you may be getting some back from Uncle Sam while some of you may be paying him. A lot of you, I know, are thrifty, so we thought it would be appropriate this month to exchange money-saving tips (and turn it into a contest, of course). Share your clever tips and sage advice here and we'll award someone with a copy of Sheila's self-help novel SMALL CHANGE along with some seed packets to help you save some money on the food bill. You have until midnight April 15th to post. We'll pick a winner and announce on Monday the 16th. Let's share our wisdom!
Karen Henry. Congrats to Karen. And a big thanks to all of you who entered. I hope, when we have contests like this you all take time to read what others have posted. You're an inspiring bunch of gals!
Actually, I don't believe in luck. I'm more of a blessings and hard work pays off kind of girl. But since we're celebrating St. Patty's Day I thought it would be fun to celebrate the luck of the Irish with a little contest and let you share how you feel "lucky". Maybe you have the world's most awesome kids (good luck with that one cuz I've got you beat!) or you won a cool award or ... whatever. Do a quick post and we'll pick a winner to receive this fun little purse container and a purse valet for hanging your purse from a table. Just some fun little trinkets for some "lucky" lady to enjoy. Contest will run until March 11th and we'll announce a winner on the 12th. Maybe, just maybe, that way whoever wins will get her goody by St. Patty's Day. Looking forward to seeing what you all post!
I love February! All that love is in the air fun and chocolate - it does my heart good. I always try to squeeze in some extra entertaining and a good romantic chick flick this month to celebrate. So I thought it would be fun to get some movie suggestions. Have you got a favorite romantic movie, one you think would be perfect for Valentine's Day? Share it here. We'll pick a winner and send you a little Valentine Goody package of some chocolate and a signed Sheila book. You have until Feb 13th to post. We'll announce our winner on Valentine's Day.
Who won this month's contest. Lori we'll be getting those books out to you soon. Thanks for all of you who shared. I'm sure it was fun and inspirational for all of us to read those posts. Check back next month. I'm sure we'll come up with something fun for February.
I've found a fun cookbook to offer our lucky winner in this month's contest. (Remember, I told you I'd let you know!) Just ordered a copy of THE EVERYTHING HEALTHY COOKING FOR PARTIES: Delicious, guilt-free foods all your guests will love. I love to eat, I love to cook, and I love to throw parties. Why am I giving away this book? Anyway, there you have it. Keep those New Year's resolutions coming!
So, have you made a New Years resolution? Share it with us. We'll randomly pick a winner and send one of you a copy of SMALL CHANGE and a healthy cooking cookbook (TBA - I haven't decided on one just yet). Contest ends January 19th. We'll announce a winner on the 20th. Happy New Year!
We're going to have a cat-themed contest for my new release, THE NINE LIVES OF CHRISTMAS. Tell us, in twenty-five words or less, about the coolest cat you ever owned. (Ambrose says, "He'll have to be a pretty cool cat to compete with me." Ambrose has a fat head.) If you have the coolest cat of all we'll send you a Sheila holiday reading package, consisting of my three Christmas novels, ON STRIKE FOR CHRISTMAS, THE SNOW GLOBE, and THE NINE LIVES OF CHRISTMAS. Contest ends November 30th and we'll announce our winner on December 1st. Can hardly wait to hear about your awesome kitties!
Hey there, fellow readers and foodies, I'm putting together a collection of chocolate candy recipes for next year's novel. Have you got a great original family recipe? Maybe you've concocted something yummy that's been the hit of family gatherings. Or maybe you're up for the challenge of coming up with something right now! Whatever. Share it here and you might just make it into my novel. (You will of course, get credit, just like past contributors have). There is a deadline (because, hey, I've got a deadline). Post your recipe by September 15th so we have time to test it here in the kitchen of Sheila Crockpot. Who knows, you might just find yourself famous!
BTW, this one is open to all you non- U.S. residents as well since the "prize" will be getting into the book. (Providing you make the cut with my editor.) So, ready, set, cook!
I can't remember when we've had such a hard time picking a contest winner. You all submitted such unique and fun recipes. Wish I had a prize for each of you. Truly. But there is only one. And this time it goes to ... drum roll please. Debra. Congrats Debra on your easy unique dessert recipe. I think we'll all enjoy trying that. In fact, I know I'm going to enjoy trying all the recipes that were submitted. Thanks one and all. And stay tuned. We'll have a new contest s
